I was listening to the Art Bell show last night, and Richard Hoagland had a very intersting debate with Seth (Some-last-name) from the SETI project regarding the crop glyphs discussed on Friday's show, which Lyra posted here a couple days ago. You would think that SETI would be all over this, claiming that it was indeed alien contact, but no...

This show is the skeptics' dream. Art asks some really good questions, and Hoagland even admitted that he could argue for either case (hoax or not) just as equally. This show is good because it allows one to make up their own mind on this issue.

I'd like to hear this one actually. The guys from SETI are some of the most respectable scientists (or should I say 'scienticians'??) out there. But hey guess what? I don't have anything capable of handling Windows Media Player's stunning feats of technological gee-wizzardry. Okay, yeah, I do. But my kids use it to play Lego Racers all night long, and I'm stuck on this 486 with a funky free operating system and a 56K modem. :-P

So, I'd love it if you could provide a summary of the debate, or highlight some interesting points. Or maybe Art Bell has text transcripts on his site? Something?

... Um, I mean, sure I could go looking and try to find it myself, but... you know...

alas... there are no text transcripts on Art's site. Also, it would be difficult for me to paraphase it because there is so much information in the hour and a half. I've listened to it for the second time (at your request for a summary) and I'm STILL trying to mentally digest it.

Suffice it to say, the debate was really thought provoking. True scientific evidence (on both ends of the debate) was presented. It's something you'll just have to hear for yourself. Sorry Q....
