Coping with procrastination

I can't remember who first observed this, but the best way to stop procrastinating on a given task is to find something else you want to work on even less and then your own sloth will put you to work on task A in order to prevent you from having to work on task B. I've decided to learn Attic Greek and read Homer in the original. I have a big stack of books on the subject on my desk. I haven't given them more than a glance, but they're helping me get other things done (like my job). Plus they make me look like one of them intellectualists.

You'll never get the conversational attic greek down well enough to catch anything that a good translator hasn't. Plus those poems were meant to be heard sung by a bard in your house for a piece or two of silver. Read from Someone like Richmond Lattimore, who's really good at reproducing the rhythm in English.
