I always knew that nobody cared about anything that wasn't gossip. Now CNN spends more time on Britney Spears than any of the presidential hopefuls, and Satanosphere is All Day All Night All Diaries.

Chuck just gave me the deeply sad news that my friend Mark died of colon cancer last week. Since this is still primarily a place where some Oly people congregate online, I feel compelled to post his obituary here. He was quite close to a few former Satanosphere regulars. Please don't call this "Death Watch", Mark was no celebrity, just an incredibly nice guy and talented film maker. He shot some stuff for me and Chuck that we really enjoyed. I can't say I was as close with him as I would have liked to be; I think he kind of kept his distance from a lot of people because of his poor health. To the credit of the Olympian, they seem to have really captured the Mark I remember in this smiling photo and words.

I've picked a song for midnight that I'm actually quite happy with. That's actually the first time since ringing in 2001 and that ("Ball of Confusion") ended up being too spot on. This one has taken a few years to achieve the proper significance. Or maybe I just never thought of it before.
